For local small businesses

Website questionnaire

This is the whole intake. Fifteen minutes if you have your hours and prices handy. Answer in your own words, skip anything that does not apply, and do not worry about writing it nicely.

When you send it we build a demo and show it to you. You get one round of changes, then it goes live at $20 a month or $200 a year, domain and hosting included.

01

Who you are

The basics, so we know who we are talking to and what to put at the top of the page.

Spelled and capitalized exactly how you want it to appear.

The number you pick up.

Write it the way you would say it to someone at a bus stop. We will tidy it up.

A neighborhood, a list of cities, or a radius. If customers come to you, give the address.

02

What the page has to do

A one page site does one job well. This is the part that decides how we lay it out.

Pick the one that matters most. Everything else moves down the page.

Square, Calendly, Toast, DoorDash, a phone number, whatever you use now.

Age, situation, what brought them to you. Be specific. "Homeowners in Bellevue with a leak they need fixed today" beats "everyone".

The three or four questions you answer over and over on the phone. These usually become the page.

Your own words, no marketing voice. This is the single most useful answer on this form.

03

What goes on the page

The raw material. Rough is fine. We do the writing.

Day by day. Note anything seasonal or by appointment only.

List what you sell. Prices are optional, and "starting at" is fine. If you have a menu or price sheet already, paste it or send the file to hello@localfoc.us.

Paste a couple, with a first name and where they came from (Google, Yelp, a text message). Real ones only.

A Google Drive or Dropbox link, or email them to hello@localfoc.us after you send this.

Paste whatever you have. We link to them and pull details from them.

04

How it should look

You do not need design vocabulary for this. Pick what feels closest and tell us what you hate.

If you have brand colors, give us the hex codes. If not, describe them.

Any industry. Tell us what you like about each one, even if it is just "it feels expensive".

Stock photos of people shaking hands, a chat bubble, autoplaying video. Say so now.

05

The web address

We buy the domain and host the site. We just need to know what to buy.

Short and easy to say out loud beats clever.

06

Last bits

A grand opening, a busy season, a print run with the address on it.

Nothing here is binding. We read it, then come back to you.
